KUALA LUMPUR, Fri. - Malaysia is safe but prominent reporting of crime

cases is giving a skewed picture of the actual crime situation, Prime
Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said today.

He also pointed out one little-known fact: the Malaysian police force

solved 46 per cent of criminal cases reported, much higher than

Interpol's 20 per cent benchmark.

He also had some words of advice for Malaysians who preferred to be

armchair critics of the police, and who were content on hugging the

sidelines and not reporting suspicious activities to the authorities.
