PUTRAJAYA, Mon. - Malaysia will fast-forward some Ninth Malaysia Plan

projects worth RM2.4 billion to revive the limp construction sector and
strengthen the economy.

Twenty-six projects, originally planned for the five-year master plan

beginning in 2006, will be implemented immediately.

Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the Government agreed that the

projects be brought forward to give a boost to the construction sector,

which recorded growth of only 1.9 per cent in 2004.

The sector is also expected to be sluggish this year, the Prime
